The Long Beach Camerata Singers close the annual Long Beach Bach Festival with a performance of three masterworks by three of the most influential and innovative artistic voices of the Baroque period. Händel’s Laudate Pueri Dominum, HWV 237 was composed possibly while he was a teenager, during his tour of Italy. The work bubbles with effervescent excitement and features soprano Claire Fedoruk on Händel’s virtuosic vocal fireworks. Bach’s powerful and affecting Cantata No. 4 celebrates the Easter Story with gorgeous German chorale tunes and intriguing fugues. Bach’s harmonies tell the victorious story with impressive sensitivity. The concert concludes with Vivaldi’s triumphant Gloria in D, one of the most popular works from this era. This stunningly beautiful performance will highlight the very best of the Baroque Period in a musical experience only the Long Beach Camerata Singers, Symphony Orchestra, and soloists can provide.
