CCMA: Kinder Konzerts

Supervisor: Student Technical Crews

Facilities/Equipment: Manage, maintain, repair, and oversee musical equipment such as  keyboard, piano stool, speakers, amps, microphones, microphone stands, sound, lighting, electrical and other production related equipment for concerts and rehearsals.


  1. Logistics:   Loading, transport and offloading equipment for all Camerata events
  2. Collaborate with Artistic Director, Associate Conductor, and General Manager on technical requirements for all concerts
  3. Communicate, coordinate and work with venue managers and staff on scheduling of load in and out
  4. Serve as technical director for all concerts
  5. Create stage ground plans for all concert requirements including placement of choral shells, seated risers and other scenic elements
  6. Set up sound equipment and run sound for CCMA Kinder Konzerts
  7. Attend production meetings for all concerts
  8. Arrange for transportation of rented scenic pieces or props as necessary
  9. Pick up and return rented microphones, sets, drops, and lights
  10. Be present and work with General Manager, Artistic Director and on site technical crews for technical rehearsals for concerts
  11. Supervise student tech crews
  12. Facilitate strike of all concerts, returning stock pieces to their proper places and ensuring the space is left as it was found
  13. Collaborate with General Manager on master calendar of tech for concerts
  14. Work with General Manager on schedule for outside facilities
  15. Set up rehearsal space at American Goldstar Manor according to seating chart
  16. Set up and strike keyboard and sound system for rehearsals
  17. Be Present at all events to supervise crew in use of specialized audio, projection, and lighting equipment including Director’s Reception, Gala and Fundraisers
  18. Provide input on budget by allocation of funds directed toward specific uses related to daily operations, repairs and maintenance.


  • Organize and inventory all equipment, supplies, and consumables
  • Store all equipment and park van in garage
  • Order supplies as needed (pre-approval required)
  • Purchase materials as needed for concerts (pre-approval required)

Qualifications or Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre (Sound engineering a plus) Stage Management or related field
  • Experience in Event Operations
  • California Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds


  • Highly Organized with strong communication skills
  • CAD, Basic Carpentry, Q Lab
  • Experience running and mixing musical performances

Work Schedule: Part-Time based on Camerata Concert Schedule which is published in July.

Project Rate of Pay:

  • October-  Peace Project/Fall
  • December – Messiah
  • March –  Choral Fest
  • May –  Evening of Song

4 Concerts: $2500 per concert.   Total Salary:  $10,000
Catalyst Candlelight Christmas Concerts   $1500 (2 venues)
Catalyst Spring Concert      $1500
Kinder Konzerts      $200 X 2 $400 total
Other Fundraising Events      $500 per event
