Auditions for Volunteer singers will take place on September 1st.

NOTE: Both steps are needed to schedule your audition.

There are currently no openings for staff positions with the Long Beach Camerata Singers or Catalyst Chamber Singers. We do, however, anticipate staffing needs for the future. Please email the LBCS Personnel Manager to be added to the staff singer audition waitlist.

Auditions for Volunteer singers will take place on September 1, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at American Gold Star Manor, located at 3021 N Gold Star Dr, Long Beach, CA 90810.

*PLEASE NOTE:* September auditions are for community (volunteer) singers only. All staff positions are currently filled.
 

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: 

• Please prepare one single audition piece (Aria, Art song or Folk song preferred) 

• Pianist will be provided 

• Bring a copy of your sheet music for the pianist 

• You will be asked to sight-read for the audition panel
   

Prior to the audition process, singers will be asked to submit their availability for rehearsal and performance dates. Singers will be placed on concert rosters based on their auditions, availability and the needs of the chorus for each concert.

Should you become a member of the Camerata Singers, you will join one of the major choral organizations in Southern California. As members, singers agree to: 

 

• Study the repertoire independently and be prepared for each rehearsal.

• Provide concert attire: (dressy black), plus concert music folder.

Rehearsals: 

Camerata rehearsals are primarily on Tuesdays (7:00 pm-9:45 pm). This varies with the needs of each performance repertoire, but singers will be notified of additional dates well in advance of every rehearsal cycle.
